Your Kids Judo Journey Starts Here

Every black belt journey, starts with a white belt.

Some children step onto the mat looking for a fun new activity. Others dream of winning medals, representing their club and seeing how far their judo can take them. Wherever they begin, every child follows their own unique path.

At Senshin, we believe the journey is just as important as the destination. Along the way, children learn throws, holds and techniques, but they also develop confidence, resilience, discipline and the courage to keep going when things get tough.

As they grow, new opportunities open up. New belts. New challenges. New friendships. From gradings and club events to competitions, development squads and performance programmes, every milestone becomes part of a bigger adventure.

Some will train simply because they love judo. Some will chase ambitious goals and dream big. Most will do a little of both.

Wherever the journey leads, our job is to provide the coaching, support and opportunities that help every child discover what they are capable of and enjoy every step of the adventure.

Little Ninjas

Join our Little Ninjas programme and give your child a fun and active introduction to movement, sport and physical development.

Designed for children aged 4–6, Little Ninjas uses exciting obstacle courses, games and challenges to develop agility, balance, coordination and fundamental movement skills. As they progress, children develop important learning behaviours such as listening, following instructions, taking turns and participating positively as part of a group.

Our Approach to Learning, Progress & Development

At Senshin, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn in a way that is right for them. Our programme consists of structured classes, exciting opportunities and clear progression routes for athletes who wish to challenge themselves further.

Our classes are designed to help students build strong foundations in judo while developing confidence, athleticism and a love of learning. Skills are introduced in a logical and progressive way, allowing children to develop at a pace that matches their age, ability and experience. Through regular practice, students develop their techniques, improve their movement skills and gain a deeper understanding of the sport.

Gradings provide important milestones along this journey. New belt colours help to recognise the commitment and progress a student has made throughout their training and gives them a sense of achievement as they work towards their goals. A grading is about more than just demonstrating techniques; it is a celebration of learning and personal progress.

For students who enjoy testing themselves, we also provide opportunities to participate in club events, development activities and competitions. Competition is never a requirement, but for many children it can be a rewarding way to apply their skills, gain experience, and improve their techniques while helping them learn valuable life lessons.

As students grow, a range of pathways become available. Some choose to focus on participation, enjoyment and personal development, while others pursue additional training, competitions and performance opportunities. Whatever their goals, every student is supported, encouraged and given the opportunity to progress on their own unique journey.
